| These foldaway beds are ideal where space is limited or as additional, occasional beds. They simply bolt to the floor and fold up or down as needed. These superior quality wall beds are manufactured by the world leader and original creator of these wall mounting beds, and offer unbeatable performance. They have a counter-balanced spring mechanism and can be bolted to your floor firmly and safely. You then simply and effortlessly pull the bed down and lift it back up as required. Bolting to the floor is a far best and safest method (as opposed to cabinet or wall fixing). All you need is a power drill, flat screwdriver and a pair of pliers. After positioning and fixing the bed you have a choice of ways to ?hide? it. You could simply hide one behind a curtain or netting, or you could fit one inside an existing cupboard (you usually need a 15 to 18 inches depth). You may prefer to build your own cupboard or cabinet around the bed, and materials to do so are readily available from any DIY superstore. Some examples are shown in the various pictures here.No special mattress is required, simply use your existing mattress or buy a standard mattress (also available here separately). Each bed comes with a 2 inch thick box sprung foundation base that fits below the mattress.
